ECC has awarded Michelle Marroquin grant money for Art Words Movement, an interactive event that will ask an audience to collaborate in the making of a dance. Local Gallery on Cottage Street will host the event, inviting visitors to write provocative words and collaborative poems as a response to the art of the wall. Dancers, with the support of live music, will take these poems as prompts to create 3 dances in the moment, thereby weaving visual art, poetry, music and dance.
Since 2014, Michelle Marroquin has been collaborating with visual and performing artists to make dances in unusual spaces, bringing thought-provoking performance art to the community of Easthampton.
